So great to get feedback like this! It keeps me motivated to keep finding the next words, like I'm doing today.

Thank you so much. It means a lot to get affirmations like this. I had a struggle to put it all together.

I can imagine. The story itself is so complex, but it’s also your visceral and descriptive writing that gets to me.

Ok I am eagerly waiting for the next post. (I waited eagerly for this one!). He sounds ... a little unnerving. How did you feel about all the talk about the nose hair?! And your sense of the capacity for violence feels very astute. And buying the boots and trying to get you trained ... I feel the intensity of all of that. I am really glad you are telling this story.

Thank you for reading and your questions. Some have already asked why I am spending so much time writing about him and wondering if it's distracting from my story. Unfortunately, he will need to be interwoven into my entire pilgrim's journey, with its challenges, fitting in too well with my plan for what I thought I'd be leaving at the Cruz de Fierro, my lifelong self-sabotage with the wrong men, so I needed to set the foundation for who he is.

Oh he is so much of the story! I totally get it. I believe a Camino story is never just about the Camino. As I found when I did it, EVERYONE has a story. And that's what makes every journey different. I too am processing what my Camino meant to me, through writing it. There's so much that makes sense only later. I'm looking forward to following your your learning and your lessons. It's a vulnerable story you are telling and I appreciate it.

I really enjoy reading your stories.... they draw me in.

Thank you so much for taking the time to let me know. It means a lot to know that you felt "drawn in." I was afraid that this piece was so long, that no one would bother to read it.
